Oya has been practicing and studying astrological and somatic practices for the past two decades. In the last few years, their astrology practice has been informed by their study under the Traditional and Hellenistic Astrology schools of Austin Coppock, Chris Brennan, Demetra George and Amy Green. They also hold a B.A. in Media Studies and Critical theory, over 900 hours of Yoga teacher trainings, in the process of completing a Yoga Therapy Certification (C-IAYT) and Meridian Yoga Therapist Certification, bridging Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yogic Theory. Oya’s astrological and somatic practice is informed by their life long interest in the animism of all things, the esoteric and aesthetic arts, rituals, plants, sound, psychoanalytic, critical, occult and meta-physcial, philosphical thought and the myriad pathways towards the visceral experience and embodiment of these ephemeral realms.
